Curacao
Curaçao is the biggest island of the Netherlands Antilles. It has a wonderful, sunny climate, an azure sea and pearly white beaches – everybody’s dream! Curaçao has it all – a bit of the Netherlands in the tropics, on a hospitable island where it is always summertime!

The island’s location (to leeward, 60 km off the coast of South America) means that it is not subject to hurricanes. The average air temperature is 28 degrees Celsius and the temperature of the sea is 27 degrees Celsius. It is an ideal climate in which to spend the winter or to enjoy a vacation!
Curaçao is easy to reach and there are daily flights to the island from Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands. It takes about 9 hours to fly from there to the national airport of Hato.

BUT CURAÇAO HAS EVEN MORE TO OFFER
The special architecture, such as that of the country homes of the former plantation owners, reflects the different cultures of the island. Many of these houses have been beautifully restored and are well worth a visit.The capital Willemstad also has many historic buildings, and it is no coincidence that UNESCO placed it on their heritage list. Besides all the sights, Willemstad has an attractive shopping centre and some great restaurants where you can treat yourself after the day’s sightseeing to many good things, such as the famous Curaçao beer brewed from sea water!
The port of Willemstad is visited regularly by cruise ships, which are a wonderful sight from one of the sidewalk cafés on the Handelskade. Besides the friendly bustle of the city, Curaçao also has some beautiful, unspoiled countryside where nature-lovers can indulge in all the unusual plant and animal life. For divers, the amazing coral reefs off the coast are a real eldorado. A whole new world opens up for you, even with just a snorkel and goggles.
In short, Curaçao has all the ingredients for an enjoyable stay: sports facilities, sun, beaches, fun, tranquility and space, good healthcare and excellent supermarkets. You’ll find something there for everybody!
